Dr. Diana Anderson Named to Journal for Clinical Studies
Editorial Board

DALLAS, TEXAS (May 21, 2010)—When Mark Barker founded Journal for Clinical Studies in 2008, his vision was to fill a void for information targeted to research and development professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device sectors throughout North America and Europe. To support his efforts, he convened prominent players from the industry to serve as editorial advisors responsible for setting the journal’s tone, planning topics and submitting content. Among Barker’s most recent board appointments is Diana L. Anderson, Ph.D., founder, president and CEO of D. Anderson & Company (DAC)—a global patient recruitment organization.

“In this industry, reputation precedes you,” Barker explained. “I personally invited Dr. Diana Anderson to be on the advisory board of JCS, and I believe her involvement will be very valuable. I have known Dr. Anderson to be a prominent subject recruitment strategist. She will bring added value and integrity to the articles we feature.”

Dr. Anderson is an international thought leader in patient recruitment and retention for clinical trials and in the intricacies of site management. She has addressed audiences in five continents and authored hundreds of white papers, articles and presentations. She is also credited with pioneering patient recruitment for clinical trials, creating a niche where none existed and helping to grow this cottage industry into a multibillion-dollar specialty area. Her company has successfully managed hundreds of projects in 40 therapeutic indications across 66 countries.

“I’m honored to be part of such a progressive publication and I look forward to conferring with my advisory board colleagues on topics of interest to the magazine’s readership,” said Dr. Anderson, who also serves on the editorial advisory board of R&D Directions

With a circulation of 20,000, Journal for Clinical Studies is published six times annually and content focuses on the state of clinical studies in regional and emerging markets. In addition to driving content, Barker said the board will be invited to chair global pod casts and web conferences as subject matter experts. Members will serve on the board indefinitely.
